Our Mithuna series is inspired by and takes its name from a term that exists across many ancient and contemporary South Asian languages and traditions, embodying various related meanings such as 'a couple' in Sanskrit or 'a male and female pair' in Pali. While it is thought to correspond to Gemini in Vedic astrology, Mithuna refers to a couple in union in the Jain tradition.
This is our hand-turned salt grinder from this series. Its form explores the relationship between one and an other.
